Oh, by the way, we’re back from Uzbekistan again. I’m working on the pics right now, but this seemed like a good day to make a post. Also, remember to switch your email subscription, because I’m turning the old one off Real Soon Now.

It’s kind of dusty out today; the worst I’ve ever seen.

Even inside the office, the lucky are weary breathing masks. They’re a bit small for my face, but this storm is worse than the last big one last week, which was pretty rough, even inside.

It is visibly dusty inside; however it doesn’t show in pictures very well. Outside, it IS just that orange. I haven’t edited these pics at all. Headlights turn a bright blue shade, and are visible maybe as far as 50m in the mist. The vehicle itself won’t show up until about half that distance.

This building that you can not quite see is about 40m away. I could not actually see it when taking this picture, but I do know where it is.
If you look closely, you can see the outline of the aluminum building, the darker shapes of the hescoes around it, and a tallish tree to the right.
This place blows.

Here are a few interesting signs you might run into in Japan.

Come and visit, but for Pete’s sake leave!

Special needs toilets — only 1 legged headless women or otherwise normal headless men allowed.

While it may be in the depths of the parking lot, it WAS actually aboveground, at least.
For those of you who have not added your subscription via the “subscribe by email” link over to the right, this would be a good time to go ahead and do that before I turn off the old subscription form.

As you may not, not long ago (ok, we’ve been back 2 months almost!) we were in Japan on vacation. We had a great visit, saw some wonderful places and met awesome new friends. I finally sorted through the 1400+ pictures I took, culled the no-good / not useful ones, edited the rest, and distilled the best into their current form in the 2007 11 Japan gallery.
We went to Tokyo:

We went to Nikko:

…where we were on TV…

One mustn’t miss Mt. Fuji…

Went to Kyoto…

Met (not et) some deer in Nara…

Saw the floating torii at Miyajima…

Visited Hiroshima…

Marvelled at Himeji Castle…

And then we left, which was a bit of a drag, but isn’t it usually?
Check out the 2007 11 Japan gallery.

This post is a notification for my email subscribers that the subscription method is changing. If you wish to continue recieving these very random updates, you will need to stop by http://expat.savagenet.com and enter your email address in the form at the top right side. This will be a more effective mailing list than what I am currently using with much better administration.
The galleries from our recent Japan trip are just about ready and I will post some stuff from there Real Soon Now.
Thank You, And Have A Nice Day.

Happened to glance at this on AFN as I was walking by yesterday. Come on, why isn’t this show called “Murder, She Committed”?
Jessica Fletcher is a mystery writer who goes around solving murders. IMDB (Internet Movie DataBase) tells me that there were 264 episodes of this show. I have always been struck by the coincidence: somebody gets killed every episode, or at least most of them. Let’s assume some 200+ murders over some 12 years with a single linking factor, that of a mystery writer. Jessica Fletcher is an evil criminal supergenius of the highest order! Not only does she kill all these people, but she frames someone else for it each and every time!
Hiding under that friendly, harmless old lady mask is a monster of the horriblest sort, ladies and gentlemen. Make no mistake!
