Sitting at home last night I was half-watching CNN when I noticed the scrolling headline at the bottom of the screen mention something about an Uzbekistan Airlines jet crashing when it tried to land at the Tashkent Airport. I got really worried but felt better when I saw that you were getting back to Uz last week. However, just to totally assure me, how ’bout a shout out to let the readership know everything’s cool?

    jk

p.s. how was your time back in the states? were you glad to get back to the land of clearly defined carbonated water?

Yeah, that bird was coming in from Termez, which is south of here on the border to the wild west…err…south. Apparently it was quite foggy and they decided to land anyway after being told not to (that part’s hearsay) and made quite the mess. From the total bastard point of view, statistically speaking we should be ok for a while. Anyways, I’m working on a deal that will keep the Empire out of here forever….

And I think we both know the only recorded time I had carbonated water in the USA, you jackass.

In and amongst all the deal-working, combined with a tad of work, I’ll finish out the tail end of the August trip, then do October trip, and move on to December. Man, I am behind. However, if I recall correctly, I have the majority of the rest of the August trip finished but didn’t do it over the holidays because I need to be able to keep track of the pictures used.

no idea what you’re talking about with the carbonated water drinking incident–refresh my memory, please. my comment was referring to the fact that it was hard as hell for you to figure out whether water was carbonated while you were traveling the wilds of eastern europe. seeing as how we americans tend to be a little more informative in our water labeling techniques, the remark was meant to note the relief you must have felt not to have to wonder about whether the water you bought here might have the dreaded gas.

    so there, jackass.

    hugs and kisses,
    jk

    p.s. glad you’re all right.

    i guess.
